\nLeaders communautaires<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/h1><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>Community Leaders are an important part of the WITS Programs. They are positive role models who promote kindness, acceptance and inclusion in your community.<\/p>\n
Community Leaders can be elders, paramedics, firefighters, university or high school athletes, school resource officers, elected officials, and others.<\/p>\n
Community Leaders:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Provide a supportive environment for children to be introduced to and ask questions about WITS and LEADS<\/li>\n
- Help teach children to use the WITS and\/or LEADS strategies before problems escalate by:\n
\n- Leading school-wide activities such as the WITS Assembly \/ Welcoming Ceremony, Tug-of-Help skit, and year-end ceremonies.<\/li>\n
- Visiting classrooms 3-5x throughout the year to help educate students and connect them to the broader community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/h3><\/div>
How Community Leaders engage with schools:<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>\n- Create your profile on this web site: click Login<\/strong> (upper right corner).<\/li>\n
- Take our online Community Leader training<\/a> (less than 60 minutes).<\/li>\n
- Identify WITS-subscribed school(s) that use or wish to start WITS\/DIRE.<\/li>\n
- Contact the school to discuss your roles and schedule your visits.<\/li>\n
- Optional: purchase WITS materials for students in your WITS-subscribed school, please nous contacter<\/a>.<\/li>\n
- Visit the school as discussed and undertake your role(s) in the WITS program. Suggestions:\n
\n- speak with students<\/li>\n
- read WITSpick books<\/li>\n
- discuss the WITS strategies<\/li>\n
- help educators with their WITS lessons<\/li>\n
- distribute WITS reminder gifts to students (optional) such as pencils, stickers, rulers, pin-on or sticker badges, etc<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- Support the school as needed throughout the year.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/h3><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
